The purpose of the Merseyside Women of the Year event is to celebrate women’s achievements, to reward the best of the best, and leave a legacy for the next generation of Women.The event has been designed to reward the unsung heroines of Merseyside, for their achievements in just doing what they do best, changing lives, giving that extra meaning to people’s lives across Merseyside.
Annually the judging panel receive over a significant number of nominations, making their job very difficult! Due diligence is carried out on all the nominees, to ensure that only the most deserving are selected as finalists.
The overall “Merseyside Woman of the Year”, is voted for by members of the general public, Radio City listeners and is completely independent.
Attendees at the 2014 event told us that this was the best event ever and each year got harder to beat.
Minster for employment Esther McVey told attendees that this event was one of the the best in the country and she was delighted to have been a part of it for so long.

Birkenhead-born Pauline Daniels made her name as Britain's best female stand-up comedian, noted for her spot-on comic timing. Progressively, she has extended her range as an entertainer to great effect, achieving acclaim as an actress and singer on the stage and on television.
This consummate performer now finds time through her ownership and management of the Actor's Studio on Seel Street to feature in her own productions and provide great opportunities for emerging local talent. She is an honorary fellow of Liverpool John Moores University. In 2011 she published her book "My Story".
